General Information about Bowen
A Bowen session is done mostly through clothes. Please wear thin, loose fitting garments – no lycra or jeans. You will be asked to lay face down on a couch to start with, then you will need to turn over after about 15 – 20 minutes. Bowen can also be performed on a single bed or whilst sitting on a chair. It is important not to receive any other therapies (ie. reflexology, reiki, massage, etc) 7 days before or after a Bowen session. Mixing therapies can result in your body becoming overloaded with different information & may effect the outcome, possibly feeling worse or no change at all.
Please continue any medication, medical advise, exercise & nutritional program, herbal, homeopathy or bach flower remedies.
A Bowen session can have a detoxing effect on your body, so it is important to drink plenty of water afterwards & to have short walks regularly during the day. This will help flush your body of toxins, prevent any aches developing & continue to stimulate the energy flow. A leaflet with this information is handed to you during the consultation.
